Who we are
idataraya is a Malaysian software company. We design, build and then operate the systems our clients run their organisations on, across payments, healthcare, retail, property and the public sector.
The engineers who design and build a system are the ones who keep it running afterwards. That is the shape of the whole company, and it is why the roles here look the way they do.
The team
Enterprise engineering. Discovery, architecture, delivery and run for the systems clients operate on.
About the role
You build the screens people use all day, against real data and real edge cases rather than a prototype. What you ship is in front of a counter operator or a clinician within weeks.
What you will do
- Build interfaces from designs, and raise the cases the design has not covered.
- Wire screens to APIs and handle loading, empty and error states explicitly.
- Write component tests and fix what the browser does that you did not expect.
- Support what you built once it is live.
What you will bring
- Working knowledge of a modern JavaScript framework, and CSS you write yourself.
- Care about how something behaves on a slow connection or an old device.
- Willingness to ask what a screen is for before building it.
- Some experience with a design system or component library.
What we offer
- Ownership of real systems from the first architecture session through to live operation, rather than a slice of someone else's design.
- Direct contact with the people using what you build, with no account layer in between.
- Work delivered in two to four week increments, demonstrated and accepted before the next one starts.
- More than twenty production engines underneath the client systems, so the same problem is rarely solved twice.
We consider every applicant on what they have built and how they work. Tell us about your experience in your own words, and we will come back to you either way.
