Who we are

idataraya is a Malaysian software company. We design, build and then operate the systems our clients run their organisations on, across payments, healthcare, retail, property and the public sector.

The engineers who design and build a system are the ones who keep it running afterwards. That is the shape of the whole company, and it is why the roles here look the way they do.

The team

Data and AI. Pipelines, warehousing, reporting, and models that go into production.

About the role

You turn raw operational data into models the business side can query without asking us first. The work sits between the pipeline and the dashboard.

What you will do

  • Build and document the modelled layer the reporting is built on.
  • Define metrics once and keep them consistent across reports.
  • Test the models so a broken assumption is caught before a client sees it.
  • Work with the client's analysts on what they need next.

What you will bring

  • Strong SQL and experience with a transformation framework.
  • The instinct to define a metric precisely before building it.
  • Documentation habits, since the point is other people using this.
  • Enough business sense to question a number that looks wrong.

What we offer

  • Ownership of real systems from the first architecture session through to live operation, rather than a slice of someone else's design.
  • Direct contact with the people using what you build, with no account layer in between.
  • Work delivered in two to four week increments, demonstrated and accepted before the next one starts.
  • More than twenty production engines underneath the client systems, so the same problem is rarely solved twice.

We consider every applicant on what they have built and how they work. Tell us about your experience in your own words, and we will come back to you either way.
