Who we are

idataraya is a Malaysian software company. We design, build and then operate the systems our clients run their organisations on, across payments, healthcare, retail, property and the public sector.

The engineers who design and build a system are the ones who keep it running afterwards. That is the shape of the whole company, and it is why the roles here look the way they do.

The team

Design. Interfaces for the people who use these systems all day, not for a showreel.

About the role

You build and maintain the interface patterns our systems are assembled from. The point is consistency across many systems rather than one beautiful screen.

What you will do

  • Own and extend the component and pattern library.
  • Work with engineers so the patterns exist in code, not only in a design file.
  • Keep type, spacing, colour and states coherent across products.
  • Audit shipped screens against the patterns, and fix the drift.

What you will bring

  • Experience with design systems in a product team.
  • Enough front end understanding to talk in components and states.
  • Precision about spacing, contrast and states.
  • Patience for the maintenance side of the work.

What we offer

  • Ownership of real systems from the first architecture session through to live operation, rather than a slice of someone else's design.
  • Direct contact with the people using what you build, with no account layer in between.
  • Work delivered in two to four week increments, demonstrated and accepted before the next one starts.
  • More than twenty production engines underneath the client systems, so the same problem is rarely solved twice.

We consider every applicant on what they have built and how they work. Tell us about your experience in your own words, and we will come back to you either way.
