Who we are

idataraya is a Malaysian software company. We design, build and then operate the systems our clients run their organisations on, across payments, healthcare, retail, property and the public sector.

The engineers who design and build a system are the ones who keep it running afterwards. That is the shape of the whole company, and it is why the roles here look the way they do.

The team

Design. Interfaces for the people who use these systems all day, not for a showreel.

About the role

You design for people at a counter or a ward, where speed and clarity matter more than novelty. The constraint is usually the room the system is used in.

What you will do

  • Design flows and interfaces for systems in daily operational use.
  • Go and watch the work being done before designing for it.
  • Work with engineers through the build, not up to handover.
  • Test what you designed with the people who use it.

What you will bring

  • A portfolio of software people use for work, not only consumer apps.
  • Comfort designing within an existing system and its constraints.
  • Interest in the operational detail others find boring.
  • The ability to defend a decision without being precious about it.

What we offer

  • Ownership of real systems from the first architecture session through to live operation, rather than a slice of someone else's design.
  • Direct contact with the people using what you build, with no account layer in between.
  • Work delivered in two to four week increments, demonstrated and accepted before the next one starts.
  • More than twenty production engines underneath the client systems, so the same problem is rarely solved twice.

We consider every applicant on what they have built and how they work. Tell us about your experience in your own words, and we will come back to you either way.
